As a chainsaw carver I was impressed that they attempted this. For most of them they had a bit of a too large goal that was above their skill level, a bear or an owl are perfect beginner choices. Using an electric chainsaw makes it even more difficult because if the chain isn’t sharp, then you’re going to spend a lot of time trying to cut chunks of wood off. Hats off to the first and second place winners, these both turned out really well for beginners! I’d like to see all of you go at it again, but with gas powered chainsaws and cedar logs.
